Golf Solitaire: rules and examples

Bring your attention to one round of Golf Solitaire. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Use the example below to understand a decision. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Look at what changes after your first action.

Seven columns of five, one stock pass. Free solo play, no wagering.

Try a more deliberate round

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Notice the feedback after each input.

The objective of a round

Remove all 35 tableau cards. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

From the start of a round

  1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

How your actions work

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Look at the feedback after the action.

A closer look at one example

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Read the matching step again.

A useful caution

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
